NYFW: Spring 2014 Runway Favorites

So I know this is super late but I'd thought I'd post up some of my favorites from last month's New York Fashion Week! NYFW is known worldwide for the meeting of some amazing designers displaying their lines for next year, and I found some amazing pieces by some amazing designers. I'll also be doing a follow up post to this with some other outfits by my favorite designers and lines to show you guys some of my taste! Hope you enjoy!

Spring is my all-time favorite for Fashion Week. Nothing too bulky and usually most designers really come through on this. For this year's NYFW I focused primarily on Tommy Hilfiger and Diesel Black Gold. Both are some of my favorite lines ever, and this is coming from a girl that hadn't even really cared much for fashion until about a year ago.

Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2014 at NYFW

As you can see, TH really focused on some amazing pieces! I love how the runway was even set up: bring the beach to urban NYC? Genius. I love the way the shoes are the super-trendy wedge sneakers, the zipper and colors are just my thing. The mixing of a hawaiian print on a blouse with athletic jackets and cargo pants is not only cute but also really durable and awesome. The handbags are a bit small for my taste but I love the colors nonetheless. This line featured a lot of colorblocking (as is common for spring) and a definite west-coast vibe with the swimsuit-style of a lot of the pieces. Overall, spring for TH is very awesome indeed.

Diesel Black Gold Spring 2014 at NYFW
Diesel seriously outdid themselves with their ultra-sleek black and white minimalistic line for next year's spring. Kanye West was even a guest in attendance for this show! (Fun fact.) My favorite features here have to be the use of the boyfriend jeans, ankle boots, and adorned leather motorcycle jackets. Diesel BG made for a very chic spring!

So there it is! I liked a lot more lines from NYFW, including Rag & Bone and alice + olivia, but these outfits are my all-time favorites. My next style post is coming soon, and I'll start posting periodic updates about me designing my very own prom dress! Stay tuned and thanks for reading!

Style Inspiration!

I've always loved Lolita and just a generally alternative style. I'll be giving you guys a list of some of my favorite style inspirations for spring and if you love cute things as much as I do! c:

Tattoo Tights - $3-25
Tattoo tights are not a new trend but I love them! I got the machine gun tights from Ebay for $2.99 and the ones from above are $25 from Etsy.
Bowkuma's Birthday Cake Bows - $4.50
Bowkuma made a great set of melty hair bows and they're just so cute I can barely handle it.
Amazon Winged Galaxy S3 Case - about $7
I ordered this today and can't wait for it to arrive! Winged cases are all the rage recently and I love how cute and small the wings are along with the pastel color.
Tokyo Hardcore's Stay Cute Beanie - $20
This stay cute beanie is yet another hit from the Tokyo Hardcore store. Right now they're accepting preorders for the third time and I'm so in love with it! It looks so adorable and warm, I'm amazed.
Lost Mannequin's Black Winged Sid Backpack - $50
This backpack has wings. Enough said.
Light colored hair and dark lipstick
I love this makeup look. I can't pull off dark lipstick very well but this picture and the pastel hair with ombre bangs just make me squeal, I think it's all so cool!
Imyourpresent Mermaid T-shirt - $20
This amazing t-shirt is sold at imyourpresent's etsy and I think it's darling :3
Imyourpresent White Fang Cameo Wolf Earrings - $12
Again imyourpresent has captured my heart with these bow wolf earrings! I've bought the sweetheart earrings from the store and I'm pretty sure these are on my to get list, so cute!
Jeffery Campbell Floral Platform Sneakers - $64
Platform sneakers have been everywhere since last year and I have to say I love them! Ariana Grande herself has these shoes and I just think they're so adorable (the picstitch is from her instagram).

Romwe Cat Dress - $40
I love this dress! It's so cute and Romwe is a great store from China that brings in the latest trends, no matter where you live and is sure to capture your heart. They're always having tons of sales, giveaways, contests, and freebies so check 'em out! ♡

What to Wear on a Cruise

Hello Spring! Winter has come and gone and now tis the season for vacationing! Cruises are especially filling up these next few months, and I myself went on a weekend getaway to the Bahamas this past week on one of those massive boats. Cruises can be especially be hard to pack for, considering all the different activities there are to do. This guide will help you pack on any endeavors you might be embarking on this season. Bon voyage!
Clothing
A lot of these outfits are obviously bringing into account the crazy cold Florida's been going through these past few weeks, but I wore all of these outfits happily on the cruise! A good bag is always a must when traveling anywhere, which is why I brought my gold chain link quilted bag. Sandals (especially good, durable ones that aren't flip-flops), closed toed shoes (like my loafers and moccasins), and boots (these were for the super early drive to get to Miami) are also a necessity if you want to travel comfortably. Depending on the cruise you're going on, some might have a Captain's Night or Gala Night where you and your family want to dress up for pictures. Be sure to bring a nice, dressy pair of sensible shoes (like my silver loafers) or some gorgeous heels to go with your dressiest outfit, as I'm sure you wouldn't want to be caught dead in flip-flops!
I'm obviously a huge lover of high waisted shorts and personally love them as my go-to for any casual outfit. High waisted, light washed shorts with a swimsuit top and cute cat-eye sunglasses are a great poolside outfit or just one for lounging around in (which is what I did, public places to swim = gross!), and can also be turned lunch-casual with a pastel long-sleeved shirt with the arms pushed up and a cute gold watch. It's especially important on cruises to bring articles of clothing you can mix and match with other articles easily to save space, as you won't have access to a laundry machine while on the ship. Also, you want to bring lots of cute dresses that make statements on their own, as then you don't have to pack nearly as many accessories!

Beauty

I'm sure everyone knows what to pack beauty-wise for any trip they might be taking, but this is just a little insight on what I like to bring. My silver bag serves as my main makeup bag (it's actually a Victoria's Secret clutch, but I prefer it as a bag seeing as how it's so cute and portable!) and houses all my main products like moisturizer (I really recommend L'Bel's, it's so great), my little NYX eyeshadow trio, eyeshadow brush, foundation brush, color primer, concealer, eyelid primer, mascara, liquid foundation (even though I don't really use it, it's great for emergencies!), mattefying rice paper (for touch-ups), toner, and lotion. I use a bigger toiletry Victoria's Secret bag to hold my makeup wipes, bigger eyeshadow palettes (Nude'tude and Stila are my favorites), dry shampoo, lotion, body wash, body spray, cleanser, tissues, toothbrush, and a rolled up sock with bobby pins in case I need a sock bun! It might sound like a lot, but a lot of this stuff is just in case and doesn't take up a lot of room. When it comes to beauty, it's better to be safe than sorry!

Entertainment
Cruises always have shows and lots of food to keep you occupied, but I always like to bring my Nook Simple Touch along with some actual books in case I get the opportunity to read poolside (which I always make sure I get) or to read right before I go to sleep. It's really important to bring some extra things like these because you never know when you'll have free time and that way, you won't be bored! (Or overeat. Or both. It happens.)

Thanks for reading my blog post! Remember to follow me and keep a lookout for new posts! I'll be doing a style inspiration post soon.

Spring Beauty/Accessories Haul!

Hi there!
I'm going to be sharing with you guys some of the things I've recently bought for spring in this spring beauty haul! I'm super excited for all of the things I've gotten, and the picture above is just the beginning! I'll be making this into multiple blog posts for multiple hauls to entertain you lovely readers and inform you on some of the things I loved! (Sorry in advance for the differences in quality, the picture above was taken in the morning while the ones below were at night time, honest mistake).

I first bought two pairs of adorable earrings from Forever 21 on a weekend trip with my family to Miami. These earrings are not only totally cute but I especially love them because they have a vintage feel and are clip-ons! (I love clip-ons, though understand why some wouldn't).

Some other things I got were from Lush Cosmetics, which I've recently grown to really love! Everything from lush is handmade and free from animal testing, making beauty sweeter! I visited my local Lush and bought one of their new FUN bars in pink (it smells like cotton candy!) along with a pink bath bomb (inspired by Audrey Hepburn, it smells amazing).

Next up I ordered myself The Balm's Nude'tude eyeshadow palette! I didn't realize when ordering it that I got the Naughty Edition, but I've really grown to love this palette. I definitely understand why some people compare it to Urban Decay's Naked/Naked 2 palettes, as this one is amazingly luxurious and all the colors are bold (and well, naughty!)

Stila's Holiday eyeshadow palette was a steal for me! I got it in Urban Outfitters for around $7 (down from $20) and it's proven to be one of my absolute favorite palettes! The colors are beautiful pastels and striking deeps, mixed with both matte and shimmer. This is supposed to be for winter, but I think it's versatile enough for spring as well.

My favorite item on this list has to be the quilted purse I got. It might look small in the pictures, but it's actually very roomy (think iPad big) and the gold chain on it with the gold lock just dazzles me. For $17, it was a steal! I got it at Ross and I have to say I'm so in love and excited for when I finally wear it. This bag is definitely destined to become my spring staple for this season.

Thanks for reading this spring beauty haul post! Stay tuned for more haul posts and spring style inspirations by me!

Spring 2013 Beauty Essentials

Hi there readers! Spring 2013 is quickly approaching, with winter going almost as fast as it had come! I'll be sharing with you all some of my favorite beauty essentials for this upcoming spring, guaranteed to make you fabulous and wonderfully confident for this season. :)

EOS Lip Balm
I'm aware these aren't new and are practically the hottest thing out in lip balms right now, but I myself am addicted to these little eggs! I absolutely can't go anywhere without one of these, and have bought both the Summer Fruit flavor and Sweet Mint. For spring, I'd recommend Summer Fruit, as it glides on easily and tastes amazing while keeping your lips beautifully hydrated and soft.
($3, Walmart stores)

Pond's Moisturizing Dry Skin Cream
If you're like me, you love having nice, soft skin. By using Pond's Moisturizer, you'll not only maintain beautiful skin but also keep it looking amazing forever! My mom has used this stuff since she was 16 years old and still uses it today. I love Pond's and use it as both a part of my makeup routine and as a night cream. Pond's is very versatile and has a light fragrance while not weighing you down.
($4-5, Drug stores)

Lush Cosmetics Sex Bomb Bath Bomb

Everyone around me is always raving about Lush and their amazing bath bombs, especially my best friend! I went into Lush one day and tried out this bath bomb and it turns out the flower inside their Sex Bomb blooms when you toss it in the bath! Not only is this super cool, but it makes your bath water smell amazing and makes your skin super soft very fast.
($6.95, Lush stores & online)

Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Polish in Frappe
This nail polish might be a bit pricey, but is definitely one of my favorites! It's a delicate pink color, a light pastel pink that I've grown to love wholeheartedly. You might have to apply several coats, but it stays on forever and looks amazing for any occasion.
($13, tinibeauty.com)

Serious Skincare Glycolic Gommage Retexturizing Face Mask
Serious Skincare definitely make a winner with this mask! It's a lot more than anything I'd buy and was given to me as a gift, but I love this product. The mask feels like a clay mask and is a peel away one with a gray color to it. You apply it evenly across your face and sit back and relax while it tingles and fixes your skin, leaving it glowing upon removal. Definitely worth it!
($40, HSN)

Mia Mane Stain

While on a weekend trip to Miami with my family, I found these temporary hair color stains being sold at Urban Outfitters. I had previously spotted these while on winter vacation in Lennox Square in Atlanta, Georgia (best mall ever!) and was dismayed to see these were $10 each! Definitely out of my budget as a teen with no steady income. I was happy to discover these were marked down to $1 each! Obviously, I got all three colors and found that they give a strong color no matter what your hair color may be. Apply the color, brush your hair out, and you'll have a great color without the commitment of dye! Washes out with shampoo.
($10, Urban Outfitters stores)

Forever 21 Patent Rose Makeup Bag
I haven't purchased these bags, but Forever 21's Rose Makeup bag is so cute I couldn't resist putting it on this list! I saw this in the store and absolutely fell in love with it. With an adorable handle and silky inside with a light pink background and dark pink rose pattern made of a nylon-like material, this makeup bag screams spring! It's also very roomy and ideal for any spring break trip you might embark on. It also comes in black too if pink isn't your thing but you still love floral. Practice safe makeup and buy this bag!
($9.80, Forever 21 stores & online)

Thanks for reading! Be sure to let me know if you've tried any of these and loved or loathed it. These are just some of my beauty essentials, what are some of yours? Thanks again!
